Hobby House perpetual calendar...

Morning All,

I hope today finds you happy, healthy and having a good day.

Just a quick post to show you one of my makes from The Hobby House love spring collection.

I'm loving their kits at the moment, the papers are just lush and the quality is fab to work with.

This is another post that I started but didn't quite finish ( as you can see from the date in the pic ).  I am in between going back and forth to visit my Dad who is unfortunately very poorly at the moment.

All the products I used are from Hobby House apart from a Martha Stewart fern punch and a Spellbinders lacy circle die.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day.
Crafty hugs
Karen

AquaTints.....

Morning Crafters,

Today is another one of my posts that didn't publish.  It was a card I made while just having a "play day" you know, one of those days where you have nothing in mind and no occasion  to craft for, just pure time losing fun...

I was having a play with some of the Spectrum Noir AquaTints in Beautifully grunge.

I first painted the AquaTints on basic white cardstock, spritzed with a little water and while still wet, sprinkled on some coarse sea salt.  (I left it to dry naturally).

I painted half a dozen of these in different colours and directions, (some just splodged on randomly) all at the same time so I will always have a background to hand. It's amazing how no two backgrounds look alike.

I then just stamped with some Sheena Douglass stamps (I think I have nearly every one !!!)
She is such a talented lady and her stamps are amazing.

Lastly a little bit of  Indigo-Blu Mega flakes (can't remember which colour, sorry) as I felt it needed a little something but glitter didn't seem to fit.

Have a great day
Hugs Karen

Fathers Day

Hi folks,

There seems to have been a few issues lately with trying to upload some of my posts so here is a card I made which was originally posted on 27th Feb.

Its a lovely little image from LOTV which I used to make my dad his Fathers Day card.

The newspaper background is Bazzill Basics paper (Antique dictionary page) which you can find here  and the papers are both from MME 6x6 paper pads, Indie chic-saffron and Lost & Found-Portobello Road

Dad stickers are from American crafts, Studio Calicos classic calico collection, cardstock stickers.

All other bits and bobs are from my craft stash.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs Karen

Happy crafty New Year

Hi crafters,

Well I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a joyful New Year.   I know its a little late but I just wanted to post a picture of the cards I made for the festive season.
What started out as a good idea (or so I thought) turned into quite a labour of love in the end !!!

Anyway I hope you are all sticking to your resolutions if you made any...mine is to hopefully try more mixed media projects this year.  I have quite a few in mind which I want to attempt so I have stocked up on all the usual suspects so here's to a crafty 2015 :-)

Thanks for stopping by

Shades of Lilac...

Good afternoon from sunny Blackpool :)

Well I awoke this morning with all the good intentions of starting my Christmas cards....It was dark and miserable outside so it seemed an appropriate day to start...but then the sun came out !!!

I have chose an LOTV image again today, I just adore all the little fairies in their range, they are just too cute.

I couldn't quite decide what I wanted to do so I went through my huge stack of papers first and the lilac shades jumped out at me (isn't it odd how you have different colour days)

So here she is in all her gorgeous twinkliness.

I have used some of the Stampendous Frantage on the topper in shabby white to give it a more distressed look.

Finally lots of glitter added to the flowers for a gorgeous sparkley finish.

Looks like my Crimbo cards will have to wait for another day.

Thanks for popping in.

Love Karen.

LOTV Fairy

Hello again my lovelies

Just recently I discovered Lili of the Valley art pads and although there is nothing more than I love to do than sit down with an image and my alcohol markers, sometimes there just isn't enough time.

These art pads are a god send for such occasions when time is short and there are also a number of pads covering a multitude of occasions.

Today I chose an image from one of their fairy pads. She is such a cute little thing with her weeny boppers and fairy wand....

Image:- LOTV art pad 6
Topper:- Spellbinders

Santoros Gorjuss.....

Good afternoon my lovelies.

Well what a miserable day we're having here in the UK today, but what better way to listen to the thunder and rain against the window than with some crafting.

Today I decided on quite a dark colour to reflect what's going on outside but who can resist the totally cute Santoros Gorjuss.

Recipe
All papers and image Santoros Gorjuss
Ribbons and flowers, Wild Orchid Crafts
Butterfly edge die, Joy crafts
Bunting die, Joanna Sheen
Butterfly punch, Martha Stewart
Beautiful stamp, Creative Expressions
Everything else, my own stash.

The metal corner was covered with Tim Holtz crackle paint in picket fence and left over night to do its magic.

Have a lovely day and Thanks for stopping by.

Lots of love
Karen.
